The Housing Development Department of New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) has an opening for an Affordable Housing Tax Credit Analyst. This position assists with the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit (“LIHTC”) Program, including the 9% competitive tax credit allocations and the multifamily tax exempt bonds (4% tax credit projects). Assist with preparing the Qualified Allocation Plan, implementing all program initiatives and documentation and participate in coordinating the 9% competitive tax credit application round. Tracking and process all tax credit projects from initial award through completion and placed in service/8609 issuance.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate, urban studies/planning or closely related field
Three years’ professional experience with the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Five years professional experience in real estate development in lieu of education will be considered. Additional experience with affordable housing programs, commercial real estate financing and/or underwriting, or architecture preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Working knowledge of affordable rental housing finance programs. Must have strong training and presentation skills, calculate percent distributions, increase rates and similar computations. Read, analyze, interpret standards, policies, procedures and regulations.
