MFA issued a $100 million bond this week in response to high demand for MFA's mortgage loans. It is the largest bond deal in MFA's 44-year history, and the third one of the year. MFA is the only Housing Finance Agency in the country to issue three bonds in this calendar year.
Lt. Gov. Sworn In
New Mexico's Lt. Gov., Howie Morales, was sworn in as an MFA board member during the May meeting of the board. MFA Board Chair Dennis Burt officiated the swearing in ceremony. The Lieutenant Governor's position is one of three ex officio positions on the MFA board; the other two are the offices of the state treasurer and the state's attorney general. Lt. Gov. Morales was elected to office in November 2018.
