MFA partnered with the REALTORS Association of New Mexico (RANM), the Homebuilders Association of Central New Mexico and the New Mexico Mortgage Lenders of New Mexico to remind legislators of the importance of quality affordable housing in New Mexico and to celebrate an upturn in the housing market last year.

When you make a donation to the New Mexico Affordable Housing Charitable Trust, you get a state tax credit that is equal to 50 percent of your donation. And you can also claim your donation on your federal tax return for an additional deduction of up to 40 percent. Officials from the Pueblo of Acoma Housing Authority broke ground in December on a new 30-unit housing development. The two- and three-bedroom units will bring critically needed affordable housing to Acoma's Skyline-Ganipa community revitalization area. MFA awarded $7.7 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits to the project.
