ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Over $4.7 million in funding is available to organizations that provide services to individuals that are experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of homelessness through Housing New Mexico’s HOME Investment Partnerships American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Prevention Program.

The program is designed to identify sheltered and unsheltered homeless persons, as well as those at-risk of homelessness, and to provide the services necessary to help those persons quickly regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness.

Funding is available to units of local government, tribal governments and nonprofit organizations who have at least two years of demonstrated experience providing services to those that are experiencing homelessness. Eligible organizations may read the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in its entirety and download an application and required documents from the Housing New Mexico website.

“Our goal is to get the available funding out the door to qualified organizations around the entire state in an effort to ultimately help individuals experiencing homelessness and those at-risk of homelessness,” said Housing New Mexico’s Chief Housing Officer Donna Maestas-De Vries. “We encourage eligible service providers to apply for funding, as it’s imperative we work together to help address this challenge we face in all New Mexico counties.”

The purpose of this NOFA is primarily to obtain additional service providers, especially in areas of New Mexico that are either unserved or underserved. Currently, there are six service providers utilizing HOME-ARP funds to serve 16 counties.

NOFA submissions will be accepted until Sept. 30, 2029, or until funding available is less than $500,000. Interested organizations may also access a recording of the HOME-ARP NOFA training on the Housing New Mexico website.
