NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE DRAFT 2023 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN

Housing New Mexico and the Department of Finance and Administration, Local Government Division (DFA) are seeking public comment on the proposal of the 2023 Draft Annual Action Plan. The public comment period will begin on March 20, 2023, and end on April 20, 2023.  A hybrid virtual and in-person public hearing will be held on April 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  The action plan governs administration of federal funding appropriated for housing and community development activities that benefit low and moderate income persons throughout the State of New Mexico. 

This federal funding includes the following programs: HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG), Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) and Housing Trust Fund (HTF).  The 2023 Annual Action Plan outlines one year goals for the period beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024. These funds may be used for activities including but not limited to public facilities, infrastructure improvements, affordable housing development or preservation, economic development, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing and program administration. The HOME, ESG, HOPWA and HTF programs are administered by Housing NM, and CDBG program is administered by DFA.

Additionally, the documents may be provided in alternative formats (i.e., Braille/large print, audio tape) for the disabled and may be translated into Spanish for Limited English Proficient (LEP) Spanish speaking persons, upon request.

  Citizens, interested agencies, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations may attend a virtual or in-person public hearing on April 17, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. via webcast at https://housingnm.org/meetings-events-notices  or in person at Housing NM’s office to provide  comments.
