Tribal Eligible Funding Programs

In the last decade, New Mexico’s tribes and THDEs - most of which have been active in the Coalition --have become increasingly sophisticated in the homeownership arena and have begun to address other housing needs including rehabilitation and weatherization. Some tribal housing authorities have completed single-family developments and even rental developments using low-income housing tax credits. Because MFA administers these programs for the state, it has taken an active role in capacity building and ensuring that its programs and products are widely used on tribal lands.
